DAY 1 HERMANUS (--D)
Arrive Cape Town, transfer through the wine lands of Stellenbosch and sample some local wines and cheeses from the area. Then we proceed along the scenic R44 to the coastal town of Hermanus. There will be time for dolphin and whale watching (in season).
DAY 2 KNYSNA (BL-)
After a leisurely morning stroll along the beach with the locals we transfer through the quilted country side onto the N2. Today there is a good chance of seeing our national bird, the blue crane. We will also visit the famous Post office tree of Mossel bay. Tonight we sleep in the heart of the Garden route of Knysna.
DAY 3-4 TSITSIKAMMA (BLD, BLD)
In the morning we visit the Knysna heads and there will be an opportunity to travel the tjoe-tjoe train from Gorge to Mossel bay, approx €20 (own expense). This afternoon we make our way to Tsitsikamma, probably the most beautiful national park of them all. There will be time to relax, swim or bird watch and there is an easy boarded walk to the hang bridge over the Storms river mouth. Look out for the Knysna lourie and the red billed oyster catcher.
DAY 5-6 ADDO ELEPHANT PARK (BLD, BL-)
On our drive to Addo this morning we will stop at a couple of coastal towns to sample local produce (calamari) and stock up on our supplies. We visit Port Elizabeth, the friendly city, in the afternoon. The Addo is a nature lover’s paradise with many bird species and in the evening there is a flood lit waterhole. In the early mornings we go on game drive’s to look for the world’s largest land mammal, the elephant! There will be time to relax and enjoy the pool.
DAY 7 OUDTSHOORN (BLD)
After a morning game drive we have a drive day through the Klein Karoo to Oudtshoorn where we will visit an ostrich farm in the afternoon where you may even ride an ostrich. This Klein Karoo oasis town is set in a fertile valley cupped by the Swartberg and Outiniqua mountains. We will have a braai (barbeque) under the starlit skies of the little karoo.
DAY 8-9 CAPE TOWN (BL-,B--)
In the morning we travel through the famous coastal suburbs of Cape Town and its Peninsula. Hout Bay and its harbor is our first stop where we see fisher boats assemble their crew. We drive up the famous Chapman’s Peak on our way to Cape Point Nature Reserve where we discover this awesome land mark – the Cape of Good Hope. On our way to Cape Town we will visit Simon’s Town, Naval Harbor and Boulder’s Beach famous for its penguin colony.
DAY 10 CAPE TOWN (B--)
Free day
After some curio shopping and last minute photos we will transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Accommodation
- Guest house/chalets: 9 nights will be spent in guesthouses or chalets. Most rooms are twin rooms with en-suite facilities but some have 2 rooms sharing 1 bathroom.
Shopping
- Craft shopping for carvings, batiks, paintings and clothing are best in Port Elizabeth and Cape Town. If you see something you like, it is best to buy it because it is unlikely that you will see something similar further along. Crafts change from region to region.
Food
- When the tour leader buys ingredients for the meals, he makes sure that he obtains fresh produce from local shops. The meals will usually consist of: Breakfast – cereals, toast, tea/coffee/fruit juices or the occasional English breakfast. Lunch – cheese, cold meats, salads, bread/rolls. Dinner – braais (charcoal/wood barbeque), potjies (stews), stir fries etc. The use of regular plates, cups and cutlery will be provided.
- We provide three healthy, balanced meals per day except where stated in the itinerary (B- Breakfast,L-Lunch,D-Dinner). When the meals are not included we will eat at restaurants.
- We can arrange for special dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian, allergies, etc.)
- All alcoholic beverages will be at your own expense. We don’t supply bottled drinking water although it is available at most shops.
Things you should know
- Includes park entrances.
- You will need a valid passport for entry into South Africa.
- Please pack a limit of 15kgs of luggage in a soft sports tog bag.
- We recommend that you bring extra money for restaurant meals, extra refreshments and curios shopping
