Zimbabwe is landlocked in Southern Africa between South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique. The country is named after the biggest ruins in Southern Africa (the Great Zimbabwean Ruins). Zimbabwe’s president since 1987 is Robert Mugabe and from 2008 he has been ruling the country hand in hand with Morgan Tsvangirai. The biggest population group is the Shona with 70%. Today around 20000 European people still live in Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe’s summer is tropical with its humidity and hot climate (35 °C) and dry winter (25 °C). From November - March is rainy season with 1000 mm in average. Harare, the capital, is approximately 22 °C all year round. Zimbabwe is a great safari country with a couple of outstanding attractions. There is Hwange National Park and Mana Pools National Park with excellent wildlife sightings of lions, zebras, rhino, buffalo, eland, sable antelopes, waterbuck, leopard and over 400 different birds. At Lake Kariba and Victoria Falls you will find unlimited adventure. Elephant back safaris, white River Rafting, canoe rides, houseboats, sport fishing, bungee jumping and helicopter flights are only a few to mention. A popular attraction and a must see, is the sunset cruise on the Zambezi River including dinner and drinks!!!
