Mozambique is South Africa’s neighbour and is very popular for their beaches and island holiday resorts. Mozambique has a very long sandy coastline which makes it unique for snorkeling and diving regions.
In 2001 the Transfrontier Park opened its border to the Kruger National Park. If experiencing both Bush and Beach is your ideal holiday, then this is the country to visit. Mozambique is a country of sunshine and blue skies. The best time to visit is from May to November, when the temperatures are still cooler with 24 -27 °C. The summer is a rainy season (December – April) and the temperatures can climb up to 35°C. This is also the time when South Africans like to visit, as it is during Christmas and Easter vacations. The main language spoken is Portuguese and their currency is the Meticas.
